We believe we must find ways to prosper without overusing natural resources or disturbing the precious ecological balance. Our endeavour must be to leave a better and a greener planet for generations to come.
We believe that while growing, it is our humble duty to give back to the community which forms the cornerstone of our success. Because growth can only be meaningful and sustainable when it goes beyond numbers; when we create a better world by developing communities.
Thus, Corporate Social Responsibility at Mirza embraces the principles of sustainable development and development for all.
Mirza International has been carrying out its philanthropic activities under the aegis of Mirza Foundation, a society formed under the vision of Padma Shri recipient Mr. Irshad Mirza. His passionate commitment to promote societal welfare has inspired the Foundation to work towards the following objectives:
|•||To undertake integrated rural projects for socio-economic development of the villagers including encouragement of cooperative movement among the villagers.|
|•||To establish, construct, maintain, manage and supervise hospital, relief and rehabilitation centres and many other ancillary voluntary services carried on by society.|
|•||To develop literacy among the people through various educational / vocational programs by setting up schools, colleges, institutions for imparting professional, technical and medical education.|
As an environmentally conscious Company, Mirza International ensures responsible manufacturing practices at all units of operation. The unrelenting focus is to create our products with processes and materials that cause less harm to the environment. Use of efficient technologies at our tannery has enabled us to significantly reduce the strain of our operations on the ecology.
The tannery is equipped with a dedicated effluent treatment plant of 1.65 MLD capacity. Overall water conservation, energy saving, reduction of chemical release and other wastages are among the advantages leveraged from the deployment of innovative and modern technology. This includes using proven low-waste advanced methods - such as using salt-free preserved raw hides and skins, low-ammonia or ammonia-free deliming and bating, advanced chrome management system, etc. With a well-managed effluents collection and processing system, there is 100% recovery of chrome, an effluent which can pose significant health hazards if evacuated untreated into the surroundings. While waste water is treated before it is discharged, chrome and other solid waste matter are disposed off in environmentally safe and efficient manner.
Our operations have been endorsed by third party accreditations as environmentally safe. In fact as per a study conducted by IIT Roorkee, no environmental pollution is caused by Mirza International under the National Framework of Environmental Laws. Rather, the treated effluents help dilute the pollutants of the city sewage.
By putting emphasis on inclusive growth through generous contributions for the rehabilitation and relief of the weaker sections of the society, since many years, Mirza International has demonstrated its commitment to enriching lives.HEALTH CARE PROGRAM

|•||Arranging for the Drinking Water facilities for the Students of the School.|
|•||Running of Mobile Medicare Unit in / around nearby villages|
Quami Ekta Higher Secondary School, Maswasi, Unnao is situated at a nearby village which is located at a distance of about 2 kms. from our Tannery Unit as well as Shoe Manufacturing Units I & II of the Company. The School is recognised by the Government of U.P. upto the High School standard having a total strength of about 500 students. .
The need of following on urgent basis which will facilitate the upgradation of School's status as well as improvement of performance of the Students.
1. The Construction of Boundary Wall : The School has got almost no Boundary wall despite of the fact that a big Nala / Drainage is passing by the School's Boundary. Moreover, in absence of Boundary wall, the School is being deprived of becoming as an Authorised Examining Centre of U.P. Board. The absence of Boundary wall is a matter of concern of Student's safety too.
2. Arrangement for Safe Drinking Water : Presently, the School is also facing an acute problem of not having a suitable and proper Drinking Water facility for Students / Staff of the School. Right now, there is one Hand Pump only and that too is not providing drinking water suitable for hygiene.
The CSR Committee of the Company, after examining the above, is of the opinion that the above two tasks should be taken up under the CSR Policy of the Company.

It will provide towards improvement in the quality of lives of the marginalized villagers benefit who are residing in nearby villages where Company's units are situated. The Hospital has a well equipped Mobile Medicare Unit which will address the problem inaccessibility to, inability to afford and non-availability of basic essential health care to the poor and older segment of the society.
The programme will fulfill a vital need in the lives of the beneficiaries. The programme will not only provide health security, which is a direct and desirable effect but also give emotional, and to an extent financial security, to the beneficiaries. Even the Central Government has accepted Mobile Medicare as a highly effective means of delivery of health services.
