In 1979, Mirza Tanners Private Ltd was founded by Mr. Irshad Mirza and Mr. Rashid Ahmed Mirza as a small tannery unit with a big vision for the leather industry.
In 1990, Mirza inaugurated its first shoe manufacturing factory, taking the first step towards establishing a global footprint with premium quality leather.
In 1994, Mirza Tanners Private Limited was retitled Mirza Tanners Limited, and it became a deemed public company with a public issue of shares and a listing on the stock market.
In 1995, Mirza won two leather export awards from the Council of Leather Exports shortly after starting to export their pristine quality made-in-India products.
In 1997, Mr. Irshad Mirza became the first exporter from North India to win the Doyen of Leather Industry Award for his significant contribution to the leather industry.
In 2000, Mirza won the Council for Leather Exports' Certificate of Merit for Leather Footwear and the Samman Award by Central Excise & Customs, Govt. of India. Mirza was also awarded the first prize at that year's State Export Award presented by the Export Promotion Bureau.
In 2005, Mirza Tanners Limited grew to become Mirza International Limited, marking its position more prominent in the market. Mirza also received a plethora of prestigious awards, including the Best Export Award, Export Promotion Award, Excellence Award for Innovative Export Marketing, and the Best Overall Export Award Gold Trophy.
In 2010, Mr. Irshad Mirza was awarded the highest honorary award, the Padma Shri, from the President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil, in recognition of his visionary contribution to the leather industry.
In 2022, with over 43 years of experience, Mirza International Limited is one of the leading exporters and producers in the leather market, with multiple sub-brands loved and demanded in 37 countries across six continents.
